An American born in Turkey, Akif Hakan Celebi dedicated himself to photography from 2004 onwards, after he’d started a promising career in the world of television. Creating ties between art, fashion, film, and the media, he composes images whose colourful and expressionistic settings sublimate his female models. From fashion shots to artistic nudes, from sensual portraits to stylised stagings, he frees himself of the traditional rules of photography in order to combine techniques and styles. Nominated as one of the ten most promising photographers of 2006, he was a finalist at the International Color Awards and received the prize for Picture of the Year in 2011 from American Photo Magazine. ...
