MORE INFORMATION ABOUT DELIVERY

About the artwork

Against a backdrop of filmmaking, which he practised for a time, Qingjian Meng began his artistic career in 2010. Alongside expert fashion photographers, he produced shots designed for art galleries and international publications. He subsequently became the director of a New York photography studio, specialising in various shooting techniques, to the point of mastering each camera down to its slightest functions. The Californian artist has now rediscovered his roots and works from his base in Los Angeles, devoting his time to the production of fashion photographs and portraits. Inspired by the paintings of great masters or American representations by photographer Salomon Butcher, Qingjian Meng stages 19th century men and women with irony, high-tech objects as popular as a videogame joystick, a Bluetooth earpiece, or even a drone.
