About the artwork

“Looking at facades and the reflections projected on them is like when you lie on the grass to observe the clouds: everyone interprets them in their own way. This poetic activity, this dreaming, is the opposite of the glass and concrete that I photograph. Each facade recounts its history and each face of a single building tells a different story. I don’t retouch anything or return to the location, I shoot in the moment.” Eric Lignier

The artist

Eric Lignier was only 14 when he bought his first camera. From that moment on, the artist says that he definitively “stopped looking at the floor”. Years later, he moved to Paris, where he soon 16aborated with numerous prestigous magazines such as Dapper Dan, Art Review, M Le Monde, and many more. He develops his knowledge of urban territory which he showcases in modern compositions with conceptual accents. His favourite subject remains architecture, which he has nevertheless staged many times, but his fresh and poetic pictures are not limited to architecture. Eric Lignier has also found fame with female nudes, which he revisits with an incomparable personal touch. Convinced that beauty slumbers within all things and all people, Eric Lignier invites audiences to lift their eyes and enjoy the show.  ... See more See less
