Inspired by the Dutch masters and Romantic landscape artists such as Caspar David Friedrich, photographer Las Van de Goor seeks to transform the ordinary into the sublime, to render the nature around him spectacular. His main source of inspiration stems from mysterious encounters between nature and light. He was born on a barge boat in the middle of lakes and farmland in 1964: an initial call of nature that has meant that he has never wished to leave his native region of Gelderland, in the Netherlands. The artist’s enchanting work enjoys international recognition.
