Location of the image

Antarctique

This trip to Antarctica was almost a challenge for me. Because of my disability, I have difficulty walking, I am afraid of the cold, and yet we passed Cape Horn or the Drake Passage in stormy seas without any problem. It is while returning to Paris, on a flat ground, while sneezing that I fell and broke my hand. So, photography protects from everything!" "I love light. It's what makes any subject interesting, whether it's a portrait a portrait, a look or a landscape..." Olivier GOY

About the artwork

Olivier Goy recently travelled to Antarctica to film a documentary on disability and illness entitled "Invincible Summer". He made the most of the opportunity whilst there to immortalise the enigmatic white continent. All rights to the photographs are donated to the Brain Institute. As for the documentary, directed by Stéphanie Pillonca, it will be released in 2023.
