MORE INFORMATION ABOUT DELIVERY

The artist

After studying the history of art with a focus on classical painting, Yang Bin, then 31 years old, finally launched himself into photography. Success was rapid and works by this Chinese artist, born in Beijing in 1975, already feature in numerous private collections around the world. Now a photographer, the artist is not ready to renounce his theoretical painting background. Yang Bin composes his photographs like a painter constructs paintings and an artist's style transforms his models.  ... See more See less

“Half-eaten fruit, wilted flowers, empty recipients, it appears that the latter extend into the background an exploration of the vanity of existence and the fleeting nature of material pleasures.”

YANG BIN

About the artwork

"I often visit the royal gardens in Beijing and take pictures of the beautiful flowers, artistic rockeries and intriguing birds on my way. Personally, I favor the still-life paintings of the Dutch School as well as Chinese bird-and-flower paintings in Song Dynasty very much. In order to obtain an effect of perfect integration of Chinese and Western arts, I compose my works with complex post-processing to combine a great deal of elements. Interestingly, this technique also conforms to the laws of painting. "
