JEAN-MARC LECLEIRE
Aged 36, Jean - Marc is an optical professional. He has been an astronomy enthu-siast since the age of 14. He began astronomy in 1986 with the help of a 60 mm diameter telescope, given at the event of the passing of Halley's comet. His firstorks were drawings created with an eyepiece, then he became interested in blackand white argentic photography. He built his first telescope with a 200 mm diameterat the optical studio in the Astronomical Society of France in 1989 then actively participated in many telescope building projects.At the same time he ran many public observation evening events at the Sorbonne Observatory in Paris and it was there that he discovered his passion for the moonand for the observation of planets in general. He is the co - author and editor of ofthree astronomy books : ' Create Your Telescope ' (1997), ' The Guide to the Moon ' (2000) and ' Observe the Moon Phases ' (2001). He has also published many articles in astronomy reviews.He currently still observes the Paris region sky with 100 to 400 mm diameter instruments: he works with CCD cameras which allow him to obtain extremely clear photos.
