About the artwork

The Fagaras Mountains, situated in the southern Carpathians, are the highest and most famous mountains in Romania. They are crossed by the Transfagarasan Highway, a 90-kilometre road that culminates at more than 2,000 metres. Built in the 1970s by Nicolae Ceaușescu for strategic reasons, today it is considered to be one of the most beautiful roads in the world. The view of the mountains that Romanian photographer George Bufan presents to us, thanks to his use of drones, gives even more power to this majestic landscape.
