About the artwork

Frenchman Franck Bohbot has lived in New York since 2013. Fascinated by cinematic iconography, he focuses his creation around the relationship between individuals and architecture. He draws up an inventory of emblematic sites that he travels through, as in this image of a soccer field nestled in the residential neighbourhood of Brooklyn, with frontal views and systematic centring that evoke the documentary approach of Bernd and Hilla Becher, masters of the German objectivist movement. Winner of the Prix International de Photographie (2013) and the Prix Archifoto (2014), he collaborates with New York Times Magazine, The Financial Times, and National Geographic.
