The artist

As an artist and scientist, Yi Sun is an atypical photographer, to say the least. He was born in China in 1982. From his earliest childhood he was interested in visual arts, but his life’s journey was to lead him elsewhere. He moved to the United Kingdom in the early 2000s and completed a research doctorate in biology in 2009 at the University of Cambridge. Today he leads a team of researchers at the University of Birmingham, carrying out studies to discover new therapeutic treatments for cardiovascular illness. At the same time, over the past ten years he has never been separated from his camera. His interest in the visual arts has never left him, and his love for nature has grown. This fortuitous combination has encouraged him to become, alongside his research work, a professional landscape photographer. He is interested in wild landscapes, free from any human intervention, but also the influence that humankind has had on our planet. His goal? To create stunning artistic works that create an awareness of the environment and inspire love in each of us for our magnificent and fragile planet. After being awarded many prizes (International Photography Awards 2018, Earth Photo Awards and Exhibition Finalist 2018, Neutral Density Photography Awards 2017, Paris Photography Prize 2017), he has become internationally famed for his art: landscape photography.  ... About the artwork

The artist King Vuddha (Bobby Vu) is fascinated by images. A director by trade, he fell in love with photography on the set of a film shoot. The influence of film is strong and immediately recognisable in his photographs. In this series he captures images of Suzanna, his model, the ambivalence of a character who is both innocent and insolent. Incorporating both provocation and humour, the series draws the viewer’s attention to the subtle dualities of humanity.

DAMIEN DUFRESNE

As Damien Dufresne says himself: "I let my hands do the talking". His approach is totally new in that it's at the crossroads of makeup, body art, artistic direction and photography. The resulting complexity, technicality and beauty are impressive. Damien Dufresne, a make-up arti...
