MORE INFORMATION ABOUT DELIVERY

The artist

She is one of the foremost leading figures on the contemporary Italian art scene. With more than 35 years of experience and a number of prizes to her name, Patrizia Burra is a professional painter and photographer specialising in digital art and based in Grado, Italy. Her photographic style has garnered her major recognition, notably through being named an MQEP (Master Qualified European Photographer). Her artistic sensibility exposes the emotions emanating from her subjects through surreal portraits; it is by capturing such unique moments on film that she has earned her international reputation. In addition to the dozens of prizes she has already been awarded, Patrizia Burra was a finalist for the IPA International Photo Awards and the International Photography Awards in 2017, as well for the Moscow International Photography Awards, the Tokyo International Photo Awards and the PX3 Prix de la Photographie in Paris in 2016.  ... About the artwork

Photography has not simply been Patrizia Burra?s passion for more than thirty years: it is also what defines her lifestyle. The Italian photographer has an out-of-the-ordinary feminine imagination and is capable of inventing the most unusual compositions. Each of her images reveals a complex ensemble of ideas whose conceptual level seems difficult to rival. Red and Blue was created in the studio in 2017 and won Patrizia Burra the prestigious first prize at the IPA International Photo Awards in Los Angeles. Using a palette of overexposed and pastel tones, the artist depicts a sterilised world in which the subjects lose any semblance of identity. The frontal nature of the architectural space, the repetition of the same two silhouettes of the bathers, the recreation of an artificial sky on the ceiling and the absence of contrast erases any narrative dimension in favor of the plenitude of the photographic surface.
