About the artwork

The design museum in Barcelona, inaugurated in 2014, is the work of Spanish agency MBM, an agency at the origin of the Olympic village for the 1992Games and renowned for its modern approach. The German-Australian photographer Patrick Schüttler highlights the multiple geometric shapes of the museum and their complementarity with the famous Glories Tower (previously Abgar Tower) designed by Jean Nouvel.

The artist

Patrick Schüttler was born in Germany but grew up in Perth, Australia near the Indian Ocean. A region of the world where the culture of sand, surfing, and sunsets is second nature. He started learning about photography with his father at the age of 12 and rapidly made this passion into a career. He traveled the world then returned to Perth where his talent was able to express itself completely through his photos of beaches and the sun setting over the ocean. In 2009, he moved to London and worked in the worlds of advertising, fashion, tourism, and architecture. Ten years later, the call of the sea was too strong, and he moved again, to Barcelona this time, where today he continues his career splitting his time between work for clients and personal adventures all over the world.  ...
