About the artwork

Born in Düsseldorf, Jörg Dickmann first became interested in the work of influential artists and particularly the German objectivist movement of Bernd et Hilla Becher, before affirming his own photographic style through urban landscapes. Won over by Rome, a big cosmopolitan city whose nearly 3 000-year-old art, architecture, and culture are world famous, he captures some of its emblematic sites such as the Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi). In a baroque style, it owes its fame to Federico Fellini’s film La Dolce Vita in particular.
