The artist

The artist Reginald Van de Velde was born in Belgium in 1975. His work continuously examines the unknown and the invisible. In exploring far-flung spaces, he has developed a perspective that captures a sense of splendour that has yet to be disturbed by the turbulence of modern society. Reginal Van de Velde is a vagabond, the chronicler of a forgotten magnificence. His photographs, characterised by Lonely Planet as “striking images of long-forgotten structures”, have regularly been shown internationally at the Art & Science Museum (Singapore), the Backlight Photo Festival (Finland), the New York Photo Festival (United States), Somerset House (England) and the Cannes Lions International Festival (France) among others. His work has otherwise received a number of awards, notably at the Siena International Photography Awards (Italy), the Moscow International Foto Awards (Russia) and the Seoul International Photography Festival (South Korea).  ... About the artwork

Singapore, Finland, the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, France… Belgian photographer Reginald Van de Velde shows his work across the globe. His specialty? Hidden beauty. Forgotten places, points of view, and stories. In Norway, he created a series of photographs seen from the sky. Once again, he surprises his audience by revealing the unsuspected beauty of sites as banal as a football field or an aquaculture system.

PEDRO JARQUE KREBS

Ferocious beauties isolated from all context, as though they had been captured in their most secret intimacy, this is the remarkable artistic gesture of Peruvian photographer Pedro Jarque Krebs, restoring to the animals some of their stolen dignity. After studying philosophy at t...

THIBAUD POIRIER

Born to expatriate parents, Thibaud Poirier spent his childhood in many cities around the globe, but out of Houston, Montreal, Buenos Aires, and Tokyo, it was the latter that has influenced him the most: “I discovered architecture there, in particular by Tadao Ando, and it became...

ALFREDO SANCHEZ

Alfredo Sanchez was not predestined for photography. Born in Mexico in 1954, he studied law and took up a career in the private sector. “My free time was spent playing tennis, horse riding, and let’s not forget my favourite pastime: photography,” he says. Much later, towards the ...
