About the artwork

Located off the southern coast of England, the Isle of Wight attracts thousands of yachts each year. Coming from all over the world, they compete in a frenetic race, set to the rhythm of the strong winds. The sails punctuate the horizon in colourful dots, offering the audience a highly pictorial and subtly dreamlike spectacle. This series is the work of French photographer Vincent Dupont-Blackshaw. An expert in travel photography, through his lens, he tells the subtle stories of his expeditions.

The artist

Photographer Vincent Dupont-Blackshaw is on the lookout for unique moments. “It’s all about being in the right place at the right time,” he says. Born in France, he undertook artistic training before becoming a professional photographer specialising in travel. He now lives between Paris and London and roams the world, wherever his art projects lead him. On his travels, he captures moments and brings back memories. Each of his shots is unique and tells the subtle story of his travel adventures. His goal? To provoke a unique feeling through each image. His works have garnered many awards (International Photography Awards - Fine Art Category and People Category. Minimalist Photography Awards - Landscape and Architecture Category) and have also been exhibited in many major cities, including: Middlebury, London, Budapest, Minneapolis, Portland, Rome, Berlin… among many others.  ... CLAUDE DEGOUTTE

“The wall belongs to the ‘retards’, ‘inept’, ‘rebels’, ‘simpletons’, to all those with a big heart. It is the blackboard of the school of life,” says French-Hungarian artist Brassaï in his famous back Graffiti. A veritable ode to urban art, Brassaï’s reflection was to mark the a...
