COPENHAGEN CHURCHAbout this photograph
Artistic training, but also the transmission of a passion between father and son enabled French photographer Ludwig Favre to train his eye. His series on Copenhagen paints a majestic portrait of the expressionist style of Grundtvig’s Church. Drawn to its minimal decoration and the perpendicular lines of its vaulted rooms, the photographer sought to accentuate the effect of height and monumentality emanating from it. Winner of the Geo Prize in 2015, he works with Paris Airports, Visa Platinum, L’Oréal, and the US Open, while also participating in exhibitions the world over.Read more Read less

Born in Senlis in 1976, Ludwig Favre now lives and works in Paris. Art history, multimedia and audiovisual studies trained the photographer's eye, sensitive to the reproduction of picturesque landscapes. He has travelled widely, particularly between France and the United States. In New York, he allows himself to be surprised by the stunning infrastructure of the city and, whenever he gets the chance, reveals a vision oscillating between dynamism and serenity. Particularly attracted to life by the seaside, the photographer has also travelled off the Côte d’Argent. There, he photographed all the splendour of the seaside, lulled by the soft morning light and the gentle sound of waves.
