I thought to myself, ‘Why not use this concept with my own travel photos, paired with interiors of legendary trains that I'll go and capture?’ And that's how ‘seats with a view’ came about.” "

Since the creation of the mythical Orient Express, the Trans-Siberian Railway and the lesser-known but equally incredible Orient Silk Road Express, our subconscious has taken hold of these trains of legend, giving us the opportunity to dream of these veritable rail cruises. Unlike journeys by plane or boat, trains open a window on the landscapes they cross. And why shouldn't we be able to visit the world just by sitting aboard one of these trains? Each of the compositions in the “Seats with a view” series is based on a combination of photos of train interiors and landscapes taken by Laurent Dequick.
