Since the creation of the mythical Orient Express, the Trans-Siberian and the less famous but just as incredible Orient Silk Road Express, our subconscious took hold of these legendary trains and made us dream about these absolute luxury crossings by rail. Unlike journeys by plane or boat, the train opens a window onto the landscapes traversed. And why couldn’t we visit the world just seated aboard one of these trains? Each of the compositions proposed in the series Seat with a View stems from an assemblage of photos from train interiors and landscapes taken by Laurent Dequick. This composition is a skilful montage of Laurent Dequick's real photograph taken in New York from the Gouverneur pillar and his real capture of the interior of a Swiss train carriage, the Belle Époque.
