MORE INFORMATION ABOUT DELIVERY

About the artwork

An itinerant photographer, Herod Becen continually seeks what he calls energy places, with the desire to bring out in his works and artistic line, the invisible and beneficial forces of the landscapes around him. Working with a medium-format camera or a view camera, he favours formats derived from easel painting and not those of traditional report coverage. Thanks to the use of this photography technic, Herod Becen hopes that his photographs are sufficiently precise to give the impression of windows opening onto an elsewhere that is at once familiar and unique. In the image entitled The Field, the various elements ? tall grasses and cloudy sky ? are magnified through the rigorous use of light and colour, which reveal a mysterious and hypnotic landscape.

The artist

Herod Becen lives in the heart of the black mountains of Brittany. When he is not there, he walks around the world. In search of landscapes conducive to meditation, he watches the colors and lights of nature inland and along the oceans. A traveling photographer but also an accomplished yogi, Herod surveys what he calls his Energy Places with the artistic desire to bring out in his works the invisible and beneficent forces of the landscape.  ...
