Passionate about wild landscapes, Herod Becen settled in the heart of the Black Mountains of the Finistère region. He teaches literature at the Université de Bretagne Occidentale and criss-crosses forests and coastlines in search of what he calls “energy places”. An itinerant photographer and accomplished yogi, he compares his practice to his vision of photography, which he would like to strip of all superfluous elements. In the image entitled, the various elements appear magnified through the rigorous use of light and colour, which reveal a mysterious and hypnotic landscape.
