About the artwork

Based in Los Angeles, Tatiana Gerusova is a fashion photographer and portraitist of Russian origins. Her characteristic style is famous for its enhancement of women’s sensuality. Inspired by Hollywood pin-ups, she accentuates the voluptuousness and character of her models. In the New York Diaries series, the model appears as a heroine of modern times, free and impertinent.

The artist

Tatiana Gerusova is a fashion photographer and portraitist with an affirmed style. Born in Russia, she expressed an interest in photography from childhood. With her father, she learned to develop her own photos in the darkroom and with her mother, she devoured fashion magazines. Very quickly, it was love at first sight. She fell in love with black-and-white fashion photography through the shots of Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, and Claudia Schiffer by Peter Lindbergh. After five years studying art and music, she flew to the USA to live the Hollywood dream she had so often imagined. In Los Angeles, she soon made a name for herself in the fashion industry, but it was when she won first prize at the annual competition of Photo magazine that her career took off. Today, Tatiana Gerusova is one of the key references in fashion photography. The likes of Hailey Baldwin, Jennifer Lopez, and Camila Cabello have all passed before her lens. Her pin-up touch has inundated fashion magazines (including Vogue Italia and Pin Up America), occupied galleries the world over, and even won over the Guess brand, with whom she collaborates, showcasing the sensuality and eroticism of women from one advertising campaign to the next.  ... CLAUDE DEGOUTTE

“The wall belongs to the ‘retards’, ‘inept’, ‘rebels’, ‘simpletons’, to all those with a big heart. It is the blackboard of the school of life,” says French-Hungarian artist Brassaï in his famous back Graffiti. A veritable ode to urban art, Brassaï’s reflection was to mark the a...
