Serge Ramelli has often photographed cities. He has published books on New York, Los Angeles, Venice and of course, as here, Paris. “I try to capture dramatic or spectacular moments of lighting,” he explains. “A photograph that will sublimate the location and tell a story. As though something extraordinary was about to happen.” In Montmartre, whether in front of the famous restaurant the Maison Ronde or beneath the no less famous Sacré-Cœur, we do have the impression that something might well be about to happen.
