About the artwork

Based between Paris and Los Angeles, Serge Ramelli affirms true admiration for cinematographic renderings. In 2005, he became a professional photographer, focusing on the lighting effects, framings, and atmospheres of successful films. The magic of the big screen is adapted to the images that he produces using methods of technical mastery and highly polished retouches. By accentuating the contrast between the various elements, he manages to capture the poetry emanating from the photograph to convey to the spectator “a cinematic emotion”.

The artist

Passionate about images since a young age, Serge Ramelli decided to devote his career to it in 2005 as a professional photographer and film producer. His creative and inquiring mind leads him to constantly explore new techniques, both photographically and digitally, in order to better recreate the grandeur of urban landscapes. He now teaches various methods of mastering photography such as composition, materials, or retouching, via educational tutorials designed for amateurs and professionals of the 8th art.  ... “I have been passionate about images and cinema for a very long time. I was on holiday with a graphic designer friend who taught me the basics of photo retouching. It was a real revelation for me.”

CLAUDE DEGOUTTE

“The wall belongs to the ‘retards’, ‘inept’, ‘rebels’, ‘simpletons’, to all those with a big heart. It is the blackboard of the school of life,” says French-Hungarian artist Brassaï in his famous back Graffiti. A veritable ode to urban art, Brassaï’s reflection was to mark the a...
