At 15, Katia married a violent man. With him, she had five children, before escaping and meeting another man. She became pregnant again, but the relationship didn’t last and Katia found herself an unemployed solo mother of six children. So Emmaüs offered her socioprofessional integration at the clothes sorting centre in Reims and encouraged her to take a training course in industrial laundry operations. With her diploma in hand, the woman who’d do anything for her children then got a job at the university hospital in Reims.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of these photographs will be paid to Emmaüs after the exhibition.
