Pierrot, alias “Five”, is of gypsy origins and has lived on the street, in foster care, and in prison. One day, his father set fire to the caravan where he was living with his dog. Pierrot sought refuge in the Bois de Vincennes, Paris, spending the winter in a tent before being accommodated at Emmaüs Solidarité’s Pereire centre. He then joined the “Premières heures” (First Hours) job programme and worked at the reception centre for migrant families in Ivry.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of these photographs will be paid to Emmaüs after the exhibition.
