About the artwork

In this series, Australian artist Loui Jover combines his passion for drawing with the art of collage. Albert Einstein, Elisabeth II, Elon Musk, and David Bowie, amongst other personalities, are at the heart of this poetic series. Jover deconstructs their portraits in order to enrich them with geometric shapes and shimmering colours. Highly stylised and bordering on comical, the result is a tribute to one of the artist’s greatest inspirations: the master of cubism, Picasso.

The artist

Based in the region of Queensland in Australia, Loui Jover is a multi-talented artist. He has been drawing since childhood but unlike most other children, he never stopped. He studied graphic design and visual communication and served in the Australian military as an illustrator and photographer before becoming the artist he is today. Nowadays, his contemporary works – illustrations and cartoons – have not only been exhibited but have also been introduced into the private collections of numerous buyers from the four corners of the world. While ink remains his favourite tool, the Australian artist also handles paint and regularly enriches his works through collages. He describes his style as being both representational and disorganised. As for the interpretation of each of his works, he leaves it to spectators to form their own opinions.  ... See more See less
