MORE INFORMATION ABOUT DELIVERY

The artist

At the age of just 18, Olivier Föllmi obtained a scholarship to go to discover Afghanistan. This adventure outside of time decided his fate: until 1986, the French/Swiss photographer explored the Himalayas on foot, in love with the mountain and its population. On this occasion, he discovered the Zanskar, a Tibetan valley in India that was to become his adopted home. It also became the point of contact with two children of Himalayan farmers whose schooling he would later sponsor. The photographic report of their shared story won an award at the World Press Photo in 1991. The following year, he founded the association HOPE (Humanity Organisation for People and Education) in service to education worldwide. Olivier Föllmi relates his expeditions to distant lands in illustrated books and, recently, in a film. He is regularly solicited by prestigious media such as National Geographic, Paris Match, Geo, and Life, and his photography has been exhibited all over the world.  ... See more See less

I am deeply committed to humanity and to this desire to transmit what is beautiful and good in humanity.

OLIVIER FOLLMI

About the artwork

The photographer tirelessly travels the world to capture its wealth, beauty and diversity. Olivier Föllmi also travels to be independent and bear witness to the human race. In a world where the media prioritises tales of atrocities and the demonic side of humanity, he wants to honour ‘worthy’ men and women. Looking through the viewfinder, he connects with the divinity of the other. Photography is therefore his contribution to world peace: ‘I press on the shutter and feel a profound sense of love.’

As Damien Dufresne says himself: "I let my hands do the talking". His approach is totally new in that it's at the crossroads of makeup, body art, artistic direction and photography. The resulting complexity, technicality and beauty are impressive. Damien Dufresne, a make-up arti...

PEDRO JARQUE KREBS

Ferocious beauties isolated from all context, as though they had been captured in their most secret intimacy, this is the remarkable artistic gesture of Peruvian photographer Pedro Jarque Krebs, restoring to the animals some of their stolen dignity. After studying philosophy at t...

Born to expatriate parents, Thibaud Poirier spent his childhood in many cities around the globe, but out of Houston, Montreal, Buenos Aires, and Tokyo, it was the latter that has influenced him the most: “I discovered architecture there, in particular by Tadao Ando, and it became...
