About the artwork

Developed by the Kodak company as a marketing tool in 1950, the Coloramas quickly became a cult series of photographs. Displayed up until 1990 on the interior balcony of Grand Central Station (New York) and renewed every three weeks or so, they entertained the passing travellers. American photographer Larry Guetersloh took part in this phenomenon from the outset. In 1956, he immortalised “Chromspun swimsuits” while also promoting the legendary swimwear of the era.
