Born in 1971, Miguel Vallinas trained at the School of Photography and Cinema (EFTI) in Madrid before launching his freelance career and undertaking art projects that enabled him to exhibit internationally. After Pieles and Segunda Pieles, the collection This Is Not is the latest chapter to complete the Spanish artist’s trilogy on the deconstruction of human identity. It is reminiscent of the surreal world of Belgian painter René Magritte, who consistently ensnares the viewer by creating visual games and double meanings.
