Naiji is a Chinese photographer based in Shanghai. A pure product of the 1990s generation, he has had a digital camera in his hands since he was a child. “Through my work, I’d like to express a desire and show beautiful things in life,” he explains. “The world is wonderful: it’s up to us to discover and explore it.” A fan of telephoto and wide-angle lenses, he pounds the pavements of Shanghai and focuses on both the great size and modernity of its building and the tradition that traditional monuments in the city attest to, which are several thousands of years old. He particularly likes working on rooftops: “I’ve always had nice photographic surprises on rooftops; there are often incredible lighting and points of view,” he confides. “They are my favourite spots to capture and present the evolutions of my city.” Naiji’s photos were exhibited at the Shanghai Suzhou River Walk Photography Exhibition and he was the focus of a portrait in People's Daily, the country’s main daily newspaper.
