Brent Galen Adkins (they/them) is a Philadelphia-based artist whose photographic practice explores themes of transition, care, and the transformations that shape both communities and landscapes over time. Their work focuses on spaces of transition—moments when boundaries and structures of separation begin to loosen, making room for new forms of connection and existence. Grounded in sustained observation and long-term relationships with people and places, Adkins develops projects in which trust, dialogue, and shared experience become integral to the making of each image. Their photographs reveal the coexistence of tenderness and hardship, tracing the ways intimacy, improvisation, and growth emerge within both built and natural environments. Adkins holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rowan University. Their work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues including Vox Populi, Practice Gallery, and Millepiani in Rome.
