Brent Galen ADKINS
Brent Galent Adkins is an artist based in Philadelphia. His photographic work is rooted in the long term, and his two ongoing projects explore Philadelphia’s queer community from two distinct perspectives. *Afters* observes the lives of these individuals as they take shape and assert themselves over time. Our House documents nightlife spaces—and, through them, the intimacy and freedom of the LGBTQ community, and what unfolds when barriers come down. In both cases, Adkins is as interested in the decisive moment as he is in the process: what changes, what remains, and how a community finds its place in the world. For Brent Galen Adkins, photography is also a form of connection. Each image emerges from conversations or shared experiences. His work has been exhibited in Philadelphia, Rome, and Copenhagen, and was selected in 2026 for the PhotoWork Foundation’s Junior Fellowship.
