About the artwork

This photograph belongs to the ?Aether? series, consisting of fragile, almost ethereal representations, of elements that we see every day, without necessarily taking the time to contemplate them. Florian Müller presents a singular approach to photography through the attention that he brings to bear on the rendering of form and colour. Verging on abstraction, his compositions nonetheless allow us to catch a glimpse of the horizons of landscapes such as sunsets, seascapes, or clouds. According to the photographer, this tendency towards abstraction must not be seen as an alternative to reality, but instead as a representation of the substance of things, which should call on emotion and on the spectator?s subjective perception. In a society dominated by the search for perfection and in which images unfold endlessly, the artist does not want to impose a finite image on spectators, but rather to draw them outside of their usual schema of perception, calling on their imagination: by completing something absent in their minds, spectators can associate what they see with emotions or memories.

The German journalist and photographer, Florian Muller, was born in 1974 and lives in Cologne. He began to take photographs from the age of 12 years old and hasn't stopped since. He fuels his passion for art by strolling and observing the world through his lens. Florian Muller's work is in series. He explores and dissects the recurring theme of the permanence of movement.  ... See more See less
