The artist

A photography professor at the prestigious European Design Institute, Massimo Siragusa was born in 1958 in Catania, Sicily, and now lives in Rome. The many architectural treasures of his country form the main source of inspiration of his work. He likes to reveal certain ancient or contemporary sites, famous or lesser-known places, such as gardens and monuments, as well as urban or rural, artificial or natural panoramic landscapes. His photographs have been exhibited many times in Italian and international museums and published in magazines across the globe. Major brands and public institutions such as the Commune of Rome, the Province of Milan, Lavazza, ENI, Bosch, Versace or Milan Airport have also called on his talent to illustrate their advertising campaigns.  ...

MASSIMO SIRAGUSA

About the artwork

Italy is one of the leading European tourist destinations. Famous for the beauty of its coastline, mountains, architecture, food, and for its painters, it offers incomparable cultural wealth. The many architectural treasures of his country form the main source of inspiration of Massimo Siragusa?s work. He likes to reveal certain ancient or contemporary sites, famous or more intimate places, such as gardens and monuments. Dating from November 2010, La Galleria is from the ?Teatro d?Italia? series and depicts the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, an historic retail gallery in a neoclassical style, located in the centre of Milan. The overexposed colours, work on white tones, and the frontality of the framing enabled the photographer to attain pastel tones a muted and almost unreal atmosphere that highlights the beauty and prestige of the site.

As Damien Dufresne says himself: "I let my hands do the talking". His approach is totally new in that it's at the crossroads of makeup, body art, artistic direction and photography. The resulting complexity, technicality and beauty are impressive. Damien Dufresne, a make-up arti...

ALFREDO SANCHEZ

Alfredo Sanchez was not predestined for photography. Born in Mexico in 1954, he studied law and took up a career in the private sector. “My free time was spent playing tennis, horse riding, and let’s not forget my favourite pastime: photography,” he says. Much later, towards the ...

PEDRO JARQUE KREBS

Ferocious beauties isolated from all context, as though they had been captured in their most secret intimacy, this is the remarkable artistic gesture of Peruvian photographer Pedro Jarque Krebs, restoring to the animals some of their stolen dignity. After studying philosophy at t...
