A nurse from Cameroon, Scolasthique arrived in France in 1985, where she took care of isolated elderly people for thirty years. With insufficient retirement funds and health problems, one day the former nurse found herself on the street. Received at Emmaüs’s Montesquieu centre in Paris, Scolasthique met Marguerite. The two women take care of one another, healing their physical and moral wounds, even restoring Scolasthique’s desire for singing. The two friends define themselves as the pillars of the Emmaüs Solidarité choir.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of these photographs will be paid to Emmaüs after the exhibition.
