The artist

Passionné par le médium photographique à partir de 2000, Jules Valentin s’applique à réaliser des images au regard de ses errances marines. About the artwork

Born in Brittany and professing a profound admiration for British photographer Michael Kenna, in his own way, Jules Valentin explores a landscape in which the picturesque tends to be effaced. Like his mentor, the universal power of nature and the elements are revealed before his lens. Here, he continues his exploration by photographing urban landscapes. In this series, the artist set down his suitcases in Rennes, photographing the emblematic sites of the city.
