About the artwork

From 1960 to 1970, the Beatles had 12 albums and more than 200 songs to their credit. To this day they are still the group with the highest number of records sold worldwide. In 1961 Brian Epstein became mentor to the Beatles. He encouraged them to give up their leather jackets in order to get rid of their loutish image. Epstein decided to get them to adopt lounge suits and their characteristic haircuts. On 19th May 1967, the 4 members of the Beatles gave a press conference about the expected release of their new album Sergent Pepper?s Lonely Hearts Club Bands on 1st June. The image of the four cool boys had significantly changed. In 1966, the Beatles decided to stop playing in concerts. They dedicated themselves more than ever to composition and studio recording.
