Since 1997 the collector André Robé has bought slides from the personal archives of private individuals. It was not enough for André Robé to simply buy and collect. He built up sets of carefully thought out images. Stylistic coherence, combined with iconographic research, formed a corpus raisonné. In turn, the collector André Robé created a body of work akin to it. He saved photographs, lost in the oblivion of the privacy of people's homes, which became icons.
