In 2009, the duo Formento+Formento began traveling across the United States to produce an important series of photographs dedicated to the representation of the decline of the American woman. The portraits of women thus created reveal their vulnerability and distress linked to the subprime crisis. Both glamorous and melancholy, these women are presented in sophisticated and narrative compositions inspired by the imagination of fashion and cinema of the 50s and 60s.
