The three graces

As a child, Anette Mossbacher would follow her father into the forest, where she discovered animals and the quiet beauty of the wild; this experience had a lasting impact on the way she views and connects with nature. Born in Germany, she went on to live in Europe, Asia, the United States, and Africa before settling between Southern Africa and Switzerland. Her work has taken her from the deserts and savannas of Africa to the Arctic, with a particular focus on endangered species and remote regions. Certified by the New York Institute of Photography, she has received several awards: first place at the 2021 European Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the 2021 Nature’s Best Benjamin Mkapa African Wildlife Photo Awards for *Tree Of Life*; first place at the 2015 International Photography Awards and the 2015 Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) in the travel photography category; and the Bird Photographers.Net Grand Prix in 2013. She favors natural light and shooting entirely on location, without the use of artificial intelligence or photo manipulation, relying instead on patience and observation. “In the wild, every challenge becomes my motivation,” the artist says.
