Nam Le is a Vietnamese multidisciplinary artist and artistic director, and co-founder of Fustic., a digital art studio based in Hanoi. His work lies at the intersection of nature, technology, and memory, and explores an unstable, relational identity that is constantly evolving. Using images generated by artificial intelligence, he constructs speculative landscapes rooted in Vietnamese cultural identity. “Photography captures a real scene, a real moment,” he explains. “Generative creation allows me to capture something else: a memory that has never been photographed.” In this way, he explores inherited memories of a landscape that exists more in the body and mind than in the materiality of an archive. “My work exists on the blurred boundary between the real and the digital—landscapes that seem physically real but could not actually exist,” he explains, evoking a contemplative, almost meditative tone, most often set in the landscapes of Southeast Asia, the land of his birth. A 2020 graduate of Cal State University, Nam Le has been exhibiting in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi since 2022. In 2024, he curated the exhibition “Futurescape” with LG x Fustic, and in 2025, he presented the performance “AI for Good” in Geneva.
