MORE INFORMATION ABOUT DELIVERY

About the artwork

While photography tends towards a representation that faithfully reflects reality, painted highlights by the artist K allow her to detach from it. In this series, K collaborates with Ju. She decorates her photographs with textures – paint, marker, felts, cutouts, etc. – to create a new and augmented kind of image. At the intersection of the art and digital worlds, this original collaboration gave rise to a series of original and striking artworks.

The artist

K is a French artist. A fan of “nocturnal artisanry”, she expresses her creativity on carefully sourced photographs. In her portraits or landscapes, K thwarts norms and does not hesitate to mix disciplines. In opposition to digital retouching, she gives her works the spontaneity of craft, with a single motto: “Do-it-yourself with what you have.” With the help of a felt-tip pen, marker, or paints, K traces lines, draws frames, highlights contours, adds colour… No disciplines or materials are off limits. The result: the photos are heightened and take on a new dimension. In constant collaboration with many photographers, she endlessly presents new and unique compositions decorated in her colourful style.  ... See more See less
