MORNING IIAbout this photograph
The work of Vladislav Spivak borrows its rigorous precision of execution from film and fashion. Each of the photographer's portraits is a nude, and the staging accompanying them is highly stylised, owing to its black-and-white treatment and use of contrasts. Director Alfred Hitchcock declared: "suspense is like a woman, the more left to the imagination, the more the excitement." Vladislav Spivak does not depart from this rule and provides us with a glimpse of the private spheres of sensual women, who parade before his lens without inhibitions. Beautiful, powerful and erotic women. Through a savvy combination of carefree liberation and seduction, the models that he choses represent a certain female freedom while disrupting the established codes. Vladislav Spivak also mentions Helmut Newton as an influence. A nonconformist artist, his mentor was the initiator of what later came to be known as "chic porn" in photography.Read more Read less

Vladislav Spivak is an artist of Russian origins living in Simferopol in Crimea, a peninsula located on the shores of the Black Sea and whose geographic connection to the Ukraine or to Russia is politically disputed. An expert in erotic photography from this beginnings, the artistic work of Vladislav Spivak is mainly dedicated to the female nude. Graduating in 2008, he moved away from the graphic design that he was trained for, devoting his time instead to photography, with the aim of launching his professional career in this field. Fascinated by the infinite possibilities of black-and-white treatment, the photographer has produced stylised portraits of young, powerful and sexy women, seeking inspiration from the greats, in particular Australian photographer Helmut Newton. He has participated in a number of exhibitions, including the Yayunost Festival, held in spring 2016 in his hometown.
