The artist

After his studies in photography at the Beaux - Arts of Montréal, Xabi Etcheverry hasworked as a set photographer for the cinema. Parting for a short stay in the land of theRising Sun, he would stay there for more than a year. This image is taken from a bookpublished by editions Alternatives, ' Avoir 20 ans à Tokyo ' (' To Be Twenty in Tokyo '). His principal work is the series ' Avoir 20 ans à Tokyo ', an album of black and white photography created between September 2002 and June 2004, that shows a city of extremes and paradoxes.
