Born in 1971, Nicole Holz works as an independent photographer near Frankfurt, in Germany. As a child, she discovered photography using an old Pentax model. Nonetheless, it wasn’t until the digital revolution in 2009 that she became very interested in the medium. Her artistic work is mainly based on series pertaining to nature, landscapes, and whimsical worlds that do not adhere to the traditional rules of photography. Finding inspiration in abstraction, she creates surrealistic compositions that are stagings caught up in movement, but that are both fluid and meditative, leaving spectators immersed in their deepest thoughts. Nicole Holz uses the term “visual philosophy”. She exhibits her photographs during cultural and artistic events in Germany and recently participated in the international arts fair in São Paulo, Brazil (SP-Arte Latin American Art Fair 2015).
