Born in 1976 in Kitakyushu, in the Fukuoka prefecture, Japan, Ippei Ishihara began his career as a professional photographer in 2005, joining one of the most famous Japanese photography studies, Hue Inc. Now living in Tokyo, he has worked in advertising for ten years, mainly for the food industry. In 2015, he represented his country at the Japanese pavilion of Expo Milano, exhibiting images of culinary specialities for a “futuristic restaurant”. Ippei Ishihara has worked with the biggest international brands, including Amazon, Apple, Coca-Cola, Godiva, Le Creuset, McDonald's, and Pernod Ricard. Alongside his commercial assignments, he develops personal work and notably rose to prominence with his series Untitled, begun in 2014. A year later, his first exhibition, Loop / Utsutori was held in Tokyo and bodes well for a promising career for the young photographer.
