El artista

A French Instagrammer with a million subscribers, the photographer Vutheara Kham had never handled a camera before becoming the influential personality that he is today, thanks to the photos taken with his Smartphone. This Norman of Cambodian origins, born in 1982, recently moved to Paris after studying as a web designer. He discovered Instagram in 2011 and took his first photos in the Rue du Louvre "looking for poetic, romantic or weird moments" as he likes to say. After an exhibition in New York in 2011, he was invited by the Parisian gallery Daniel Templon within the framework of the Social Media Week to talk about iPhotography. A glowing review in the Nouvel Observateur allowed the éditions de La Martinière to spot him in 2014 and publish a book on his extensive travels. Mercedes-Benz, Michelin, Air France, Coca-Cola, Google Maps, Roger Vivier, Samsung or Sony are all brands he collaborates with.  ... Ver más Ver menos

Sobre la obra

Vutheara Kham is not backward about coming forward, even with the imposing community following him on social networks and particularly on Instagram. A fan of music and skateboarding, the young man photographs his daily life. Paris, above all, because: "there is always something to offer in Paris, a new perspective", he explains. He captures, with finesse, the architectural lines underpinning it, the silhouettes of people moving through it, and the light that filters into the alleyways and the reflections in puddles after rain.

PEDRO JARQUE KREBS

Ferocious beauties isolated from all context, as though they had been captured in their most secret intimacy, this is the remarkable artistic gesture of Peruvian photographer Pedro Jarque Krebs, restoring to the animals some of their stolen dignity. After studying philosophy at t...

THIBAUD POIRIER

Born to expatriate parents, Thibaud Poirier spent his childhood in many cities around the globe, but out of Houston, Montreal, Buenos Aires, and Tokyo, it was the latter that has influenced him the most: “I discovered architecture there, in particular by Tadao Ando, and it became...

ALFREDO SANCHEZ

Alfredo Sanchez was not predestined for photography. Born in Mexico in 1954, he studied law and took up a career in the private sector. “My free time was spent playing tennis, horse riding, and let’s not forget my favourite pastime: photography,” he says. Much later, towards the ...
