From Xiapu, in the heart of Fujian province in China, Christian Wu first learned to skilfully handle a paintbrush. What started as a pastime soon gave rise to artistic aspirations in him. At the age of 19, the young man tried his hand at photography. The bucolic landscapes of his home village became his subjects, as his passion grew. Very soon, there was no doubt that photography would be his vocation. Once he had his Masters in Photographic Retouching under his belt, Christian Wu let his creativity flow. He is inspired by traditional Chinese painting and legends, as well as by his own life. Gradually, he is transforming his narrative approach as his style takes the path of surrealism.
