From the start of his career as a telecommunications engineer, Vietnamese artist Pham Huy Trung dreamed of becoming a photographer. On a journey to Japan, he invested in a top-of-the-range camera and made himself a promise: “I can do it.” However, his work got the better of him and stood between him and his dream. For over three years, he relegated his camera to a shelf until the day when it crossed his field of vision once again. Pham Huy Trung says “I realised that I had completely forgotten my own promise to myself.” From then on, the artist decided to make his dream a reality and started taking photos. He studied technique and practised until his dream was at his fingertips. Ever since, the artist has celebrated the natural diversity of his native country from unexpected angles with the help of his drone.
