About the artwork

Created in 2015 for the prestigious American magazine LIFE, the Drive-In series is set in Illinois. For the occasion, the photographer made the journey along the famous Route 66 in his 1969 convertible Mustang. Behind the lens, it is Alicia who takes the wheel, with a copy of Playboy in one hand and a cigarette in her mouth.

Anecdote

The United States is full of mythical places, including Route 66, which artist HP Jerusalem has tried to revive by featuring another American icon, the 69 Mustang. The road was created to connect the eastern and western United States and has become a popular crossing point for motorists and bikers. Today, it is a legend and a tourist attraction, especially due to its lack of maintenance.
